Irish Beach is located next to the town of Manchester in Mendocino County, Northern California. Mendocino County stretches across 130 miles of breath taking California coastline. Irish Beach is just across the Sonoma/Mendocino County border, approximately 140 miles north of San Francisco. The drive to Irish Beach is as spectacular as the area itself. Plan to give yourself plenty of time to stop and enjoy the scenery, whether its the spectacular cliffs overlooking the deep blue Pacific Ocean along Highway 1; or the towering Redwoods that line Highway 128.

The towns of Bodega Bay, Jenner and Gualala on Hwy 1 have a wonderful assortment of restaurants and shops to stop. On the inland route the growing towns of Cloverdale and Boonville provide plenty to do. The stretch of 128 between Cloverdale and Albion is lined with numerous Wineries and restaurants. You'll want to give yourself plenty of time to visit their tasting rooms.

Ocean Route. Head northwards on Hwy 101 to Petaluma. In Petaluma, take the Washington Blvd exit (marked Bodega Bay) then go West until reaching Hwy 1. Turn right and take Hwy 1 northward through Bodega Bay, Jenner, Sea Ranch and Gualala. Go past the Point Arena lighthouse until you reach the town of Manchester. Make a right turn on Pomo Lake Drive and right on Arena Circle. Approximately 4 hours driving time.
Inland Route. Head northwards on Hwy 101, past Santa Rosa until you reach the town of Cloverdale. Take the Hwy 128 West exit for 45 miles through scenic Redwood forests. Either follow Hwy 128 until it reaches Hwy 1 Southbound, or take the Hendy Woods State Park turnoff at County Road #32. Take Hwy 1 South until you reach Irish Beach; left onto Lake Pomo Drive and right on Arena Circle. Approximately 3 hours driving time.
